Experimenting with Media
I used oil pastels, pencils, colored pencils, markers, watercolour pencils, charcoal, and ink as materials.
I used a pencil and charcoal to fill the background and coloured the eye using coloured pencils. I used lots of green colours to make the eye 3D.
I took a picture from Google and I made it into black and white. I posterised it and I applied some colours. (PHOTOSHOP)
Grid portrait
I made a grid to draw a portrait. It was a bit difficult to manage but I hope done it well. I drew the picture on the grid. I divided it into 4 parts. I used charcoal for the right bottom of the picture and I used markers for the left bottom, I used the oil pastels left above the picture and I used coloured pencils and markers to colour it. It was a good experience for me.

HISTORY OF PORTRAITS IN ART
Portraiture is an ancient art form that goes back at least to ancient Egypt, where it flourished about 5,000 years ago.
Before the invention of photography, a painted, sculpted, or drawn portrait was the only way to record the appearance of someone.
They have been used to show the sitter's power, importance, virtue, beauty, wealth, taste, learning, or other qualities. Portraits have almost always been flattering, and painters who refused to flatter.
1. Ancient Portraits (circa 3000 BCE – 500 CE)
Egyptian Portraiture Greek and Roman Portraiture
Egyptian portraits were idealized and showed pharaohs or gods in a stylized way, often in profile, to represent their divine nature and ensure protection in the afterlife. Greek art focused more on realistic human figures, like the Venus de Milo and Discobolus. Roman portraits became more personal, especially in funeral busts, showing people with realistic details like wrinkles to reflect their age and wisdom.
2. Medieval Portraiture (500–1400 CE)
In the Middle Ages, portraits were rare because religious art was the main focus. When they did appear, they often showed saints, the Virgin Mary, or Christ, and were more symbolic than realistic. In Byzantine art, portraiture remained stylized, with icons of saints and emperors featuring gold backgrounds and exaggerated features to highlight their holiness rather than provide accurate likenesses.
3. Renaissance Portraiture (1400–1600)
The Renaissance brought a major shift in portraiture, with artists focusing on more natural and individualized depictions, reflecting the rise of humanism and interest in classical antiquity. Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Titian led this change. Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa (1503–1506) is a famous example, known for its soft blending technique and mysterious expression. Portraits of this time aimed to show not just the physical appearance but also the personality and status of the subject, with wealthy patrons commissioning portraits to highlight their power, beauty, and taste.
BLUE NOTE RECORD COVERS
Blue Note Records is famous for its album covers, which helped shape the look of jazz music in the mid-20th century. The label, started in 1939 by Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, became known not only for its jazz music but also for its unique designs.
The album covers often had striking photos, simple designs, and bold lettering, combining a modern style with the creative spirit of jazz. The most famous designer for Blue Note covers was Reid Miles. In the 1950s and 1960s, he used bright colors, exciting layouts, and interesting fonts. The photos, mostly taken by Francis Wolff, often showed jazz musicians playing, adding a sense of energy and closeness to the images.
These covers helped create a style for jazz that was fresh and artistic, matching the creativity and importance of the music. Over time, Blue Note covers became valuable to collectors, admired for their art as much as their music.
CONSTRUCTIVIST ARTS MOVEMENT
The Constructivist Arts Movement, emerging in Russia around 1915, focused on art as a means of social change. Artists rejected traditional aesthetics favoring abstract, geometric forms and industrial materials. Influenced by Marxism, Constructivism emphasized functionality, aligning art with technology, architecture, and design for a revolutionary society.

25.11.2024
I traced a Cristiano Ronaldo picture on a piece of paper, and I drew Ronaldo using that tracing like Julian Opie's style. I drew outlines using markers and colored my hair with those markers. I used black and blue markers to show the shadings and I shaded only the hair like Julian. Otherwise, I used oil pastels for colour other things.
It was really good because normally pictures are nice when we show shadings but here without showing 3d it is good-looking.

These include rising temperatures, extreme weather, rising sea levels, and loss of animals and plants. Human activities, like burning fossil fuels, cutting down trees, and pollution, are causing these issues. People campaign about climate change to raise awareness, urge governments to make rules to reduce pollution, and promote actions that protect the planet for the future. Organizations like Greenpeace, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), 350.org, and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) work to spread the word, push for change, and teach people how to help. Their goal is to reduce environmental damage and ensure the Earth stays safe for future generations.
